Stone Work for Patios and Back Yards

Earlier this spring Kodiak Mountain Stone helped out Aztec Masonry at the Lethbridge AB Home & Garden show.  Aztec had an incredible display there and we helped out by supplying the Ready Stack (Chardonnay colour) that was used on the walls.

My parents attended the home & garden show and were inspired by Aztec's display.  This summer my brother developed this project for them.  It's a patio that comes off the back of their house and they used our Ready Stack (Almond Buff colour) on the back walls.  Turned out great!

50 Years in the Industry! Wow!

In Lethbridge AB there is a masonry company named RR Masonry that has been using our Kodiak Mountain Stone product for a few years.  RR Masonry is a father son operation owned by Wayne & Cayle Roszell.
Recently I found out that 2011 was a year that Wayne had been looking forward to, it was his 50th year in the industry.  Yesterday I was proud to present Wayne with a plaque we made for him in recognition of his accomplishment.

Great to see that Wayne was wearing a Kodiak Mountain Stone T-Shirt when I showed up un-expectantly to present him with the plaque!

Stone & Brick Combinations

One trend that we have seen picking up more and more over the past few years is the combination of brick and stone.  This has become common with both our Kodiak Mountain Stone manufactured stone and our Kodiak Mountain Stone natural stone.

To visit a gallery of our manufactured stone, natural stone and brick go to:  http://gallery.kodiakmountain.com/

Here is a great picture of a house with our Kodiak Mountain Stone Cut Fieldstone in the Quarry color combined with some of our Cherokee Brick.

Blending Different Stones Together

Recently I had a close friend come and talk to me about putting Kodiak Mountain Stone on their house.  Their original design for their house had plans for manufactured stone, but when they built they just used siding.  What I liked most about this job is that they didn't know what style of stone they wanted to put on their house.  So I asked them if they would trust me to make the decision for them.  Lucky for me, it turned out great and everyone loves it!

Rather than just choose one of our stone products I had them blend three different styles together.
45% Villa Stone
45% Shadow Ledge
10% Cut Fieldstone
The color we chose was Almond Buff

I think that it turned out great and we have heard a lot of positive comments on the job.

Around the window they used trim stones with a keystone at the top.  Under the window they used our 18" sills

The next picture is from a customer who saw the house above and loved the stone.  Since they are both in the same community though they didn't want to copy it identically so they changed the ratios.  This job turned out great as well!

A small change in the blend ratios and a little different style of installation can create a unique look

Both jobs looked great!
Thanks to both families!

House Address Signs

This spring we had a customer ask if we could make them an address plaque for their house.  At the time it wasn't something that we did, but we thought that a stone address plaque was a great idea.  So we built the molds and purchased a sand blasting machine.  We are vey happy with the results.

This picture here was for a custom home builder that wanted his company name on the sign as well.

This customer is extremely happy with their stone, but they tell me they get just as many complements on their house number plaque as they do the rest of their stone.

This picture is of some keystones we sandblasted the customers house number into to go above their garage in Saskatchewan.

This is a sample in the Almond Buff color

We have also made them with customers names and/or logos.
This is one we have in our showroom with our own logo on it.
